If there’s one thing we’ve always missed during the pandemic (aside from a general sense of normalcy), it’s eating out. Of course, we can tap DoorDash and Postmates to deliver our favorite food every night of the week if we want. But it’s not at all the same as sitting down to a meal with the sound of clinking wine glasses and the ambience of a dimly lit restaurant.
And it seems the design world reflects our nostalgia for days spent in restaurants – at least that’s what we found out when we scoured Instagram this week (as we always do), looking for the best designs from. trendy dining room. This week’s most popular dining items all had one thing in common: They see like Michelin-starred restaurants. Truly!
So rather than spending an extra minute crying on meetings and table service days, we take the opportunity this week to introduce you to the restaurant, dear readers. Read on to find out how to get the same vibes in your own dining room, then order your favorite takeout – we’ll take care of the rest.

2. Large bistro table
We can’t help but regret the days when we sit around a bistro table like this one presented by @ kickcollection.nl.
“A round table in a dining room is perfect, because everyone is seated on an equal footing,” explains Doreen Amico Sorell of Sorell interiors. âThis is the best setup for conversation and anyone can reach for the plates in the center. “

3. Soft armchairs
Who Said Dining Chairs Have To Be Stiff In Grandma’s House? Certainly not @willandbequeath, whose space makes us wish they would open their own restaurant.
âPlush dining chairs are a perfect way to add texture, color and coziness to a dining room,â says Nicolaou. “Sitting in nicely padded and comfortable dining chairs is special and encourages everyone to spend time enjoying their evening around the dining table.”

4. Golden mirror
One of our favorite ways to enhance a dining space to give it a more Michelin-starred look is to use a gold mirror, like this one from @fleurdelesalle.
âA large golden mirror is a game-changer for any dining room,â explains Nicolaou. “Like adding a crown to an ordinary outfit, a large gold mirror instantly gives your room a touch of ornate style and grandeur, while adding space and depth.”

5. Dining room set to match
If you’re looking for an easy way to get that restaurant vibe – and a design you can achieve even on a small budget – look no further than this mix-and-match dining set from @ merimeri.dk.
âWhen done right, this trend really gives a designer touch to a dining room,â explains Nicolaou. âIn a small cottage kitchen, try mixing different styles of used wooden chairs or painting a matching set in different colors. In a more formal dining room, try mixing wing chairs with a different style of matching benches, or purchase a set of velvet chairs in two or three colors. Don’t be afraid to try many different combinations.
